Ecuador participates for the first time in a World Universal Expo, bringing its rich biodiversity (from the mountains of the Andes to the Galapagos Islands, from the Amazon jungle to the coast). To a variety of climates corresponds a rich and varied food production of fruits, vegetables and fish: the country is a world leader in the export of cocoa, bananas, tuna and shrimp.
The Pavilion is easily recognizable thanks to the steel coloured chains skin that reflect the bright colours typical of the country.

Ecuador participates in “Towards a Sustainable Expo” for the category of sustainable architecture.
The main solutions in this field are:
• presence of a green roof for about half the coverage of the Pavilion;
• use of technologies for the energy and water savings;
• shading of windows through to the steel coloured chains skin.
