The first solar kiosk sees the light at Politecnico di Milano!

Realized by the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Milano, the solar kiosk has been set up at the Milano Bovisa Station from the 15th to the 18th of July.
The solar kiosk has been designed to offer tastes of new technologies and to provide information on themes such as climate change and food safety, carbon footprint of the food and use of innovative and sustainable technologies in the agri-food production.

For all the days of the event the visitors have had the possibility to see and prove some prototypes of solar technologies for the maintenance and the transformation of agri-food products (pasteuriser, ice-maker, drier and self-build solar ovens).

For each day, there has been a focus on different themes.

During the first day there has been the exposition of the projects of cooperation of 13 ONGs dedicated to climate change and food safety.

During the second day there has been the presentation and the demonstration of the prototypes of solar technologies. All the innovative and with a low environmental impact equipments have been realized by the Politecnico of Milan with the support of private companies.
During the last day it has been deepened the theme of the carbon footprint of the food with a meeting whose title was “As the food production affects the climate changeā€.
